Shape

Granite & similar slab material

Limited to shapes that can be cut from a 0.75 inch or 1.25 inch slab. To create a 3-dimensional shape the material must be seamed.

Traditional Concrete

While this material can be formed into numerous shapes, it must be poured at a minimum of 1.5 inches. It is basically poured into a slab. To create a 3-dimensional shape the concrete must be seamed or poured to the desired thickness significantly adding weight.

Surface Concepts GFRC****

Depending on application GFRC can be fabricated as thin as 3/8”. Due to the high-strength, high-fiber content of SureCrete Extreme series mixes, Surface Concepts can form 3-dimensional seamless returns giving the appearance of thickness while maintaining a thickness of 0.75 inches which significantly reduces weight.

Exposed Aggregates

Granite & similar slab material

Available in dozens of beautiful colors.

Not available.

Traditional Concrete

Depending on the fabricator many colors are available.

This material needs to be polished which exposes aggregate found in the concrete. Additional aggregates can be added for a desired look.

Surface Concepts GFRC

Any color or combinations of color can be achieved. Using unique techniques we can also introduce veining to replicate a natural stone look. Due to the high ‘readability’ of our products we can introduce textures to achieve one of a kind designs.

While aggregate can be added for desired designs our product does not need to be polished maintaining the surface.
